Modern
For the modern piece I wanted to make use of lines and stay relevant to the quote. So I decided on using blueprint designing and building to represent the thinking process before a graphic designer creates.
Post Modern
This Post Modern piece started as a background for my computer but it applied to the quote that I chose so I decided to use it. I envisioned an original design that incorporated completely different elements.
Independent Project
Well I have been working with my Oneida middle school to create a poster for their spring play "Willy Wonka". I wanted to be original yet still have a sense of Willy Wonka that everyone knows. My ultimate goal was to keep it fun and 'bubbly' like the creations inside Willy Wonka's factory. So here's the poster:

My Version Package Design
This is the final version I chose for the redesign of the Cookie Dough Bites package. I made the package stand out a little more by changing the colors. Also i put a puppy on the front to attract the younger children. Of course I left all the important information but the fun feeling that the cartoon brings really changes the look of the package.
Packaging Design
This assignment had me walking down the isles of the grocery store wondering how I pass up the time to look at all the fantastic packaging designs. For the most part, products on the shelfs have been designed with care, but there are a few that make you stop and go...huh? I chose to redesign a packaged that made me do the same. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites package i have chosen is too plain and doesn't stand out amongst the other candy competition.

Arabia
i used this image to create the faces in my poster but it also shows the wonderful excitement of the play. The colors used in this image are the same colors i was told to revolve around so i pulled a few colors out also.
arabian
For the latest project we are making a poster for the play The Arabian Nights. So to prepare for this project i studied arabian designs in clothing, architecture, and other materials such as this rug I found. The symmetrical pattern seen on this rug is very common through out the world of Arabian design. They use lots of organic shapes and patterns such as flowers and things like the sun and the moon.

Getting Started
This is a blog created with the intent to showcase and understand the art world as pertaining to graphic design. With every entry I hope to show the interesting and complicated workings of design in a number of mediums. As I discover new and exciting artwork at school, online, and around town, I hope that others can appreciate and post their own findings from their own daily experiences. My first discovery of well designed work will be coming soon.
